Cage Work

Baseball Umpire School Cage Work

Plate instruction will take place several times each day. During morning and afternoon field work students will head to one of the cages on site to work in small groups under the experienced direction of one of our professional staff.

Students will be brought along slowly with an enormous emphasis on the fundamentals. You will be challenged daily to meet or exceed your expectations.

Videotaped review of plate work will be offered at the end of each day to help our students reach their personal goals more quickly. Items that will be gone over during the course of our camp is but not limited too. Feet, body and proper head positioning. Timing and judgment/consistency of the strike zone. Style and form of calls, proper use of voice and communication with partner(s). Finally reaction to developing plays, proper positioning for plays at the plate and judgment plays.
